Berlin
A capital that keeps its history in plain sight.

Introduction
Berlin has been an imperial capital, the seat of a dictatorship, a divided city and the capital of a reunified Germany, all within about 150 years. Few places let you read so much history from the street.
It is also young, creative and affordable by Western European standards: green, flat, easy to cycle and organised around distinct neighbourhoods. Come for the Wall and the museums; stay for the parks, markets and long summer evenings by the Spree.

EU, EEA and Swiss residents can use the European Health Insurance Card for necessary state healthcare. It isn't travel insurance; travel with a policy that covers cancellation and repatriation.
Accessible travel
Rail operators offer free assistance when booked in advance, usually 24–48 hours ahead. Historic centres involve steps and cobbles; the concierge can plan step-free routes.
Your budget and checklist, in one place.
A realistic budget separates getting there, staying, eating, moving and experiencing. You get a range, because one number would be false precision.

Start with what you want to feel.
A proposal, a honeymoon, a reunion with friends, a family adventure or a reset of your own. Tell us the experience and we'll help you find where to go, what to do, what it may cost and how to prepare.
Every occasion has its place.
Each collection connects a feeling to destinations that suit it, with honest notes on when they work best and when they might not.
From a desire to a prepared trip.
Four steps, one connected plan you can save and come back to.
- Discover a desireStart with what you want to experience, not just a destination.
- Find the right placeMatched to the occasion, season, budget, travel style and practical constraints.
- Build the experienceDay-by-day plan, places, where to stay, transport, a transparent budget and thoughtful details.
- Prepare and bookChecklists, a booking timeline, official sources and a saved plan in My Journey.

Create your journey.
Choose what matters and we'll build a planning brief: where, why, day by day, what it may cost and what to book first. You can save it, adapt it and come back to it.

My Journey.
Your saved trip plans, budgets, preparation tasks and favourite places, in one place. Stored in this browser only.

Real places, run by real people.
We're building a small, carefully vetted network of hotels, guides, photographers and local experiences around the trips people actually plan. Transparency comes first.
Partners around real occasions.
Each category maps to a need in our trip briefs: somewhere to stay, a moment to celebrate, a guide you can trust.
How it will work
- Clearly labelled affiliate links, referral commissions or sponsored placements. Never hidden.
- Partners never decide what we recommend, and payment never buys a top spot.
- We show who takes payment, who handles cancellations and who provides the service.
- Every provider is checked before listing, and links and terms are re-verified.
- We start small: a few vetted providers in one or two destinations, then grow with real demand.
What we won't do yet
Youth Diaries isn't a booking agency or package-travel organiser. If we ever sell combined travel arrangements or take bookings directly, we'll first meet the consumer, data-protection, payment and package-travel rules that apply.
Are you a provider?
Tell us about your business. We'll prepare a message you can send to us; nothing is submitted from this page.

Some moments deserve their own journey.
Curated European journeys for proposals, honeymoons, friendships, solo travel and celebrations. Full price, exact itinerary and who books what, on every journey.
Indicative planning estimates, excluding travel to the destination. A written quote replaces every estimate with a confirmed price before anything is paid.

See the world. Discover its stories.
We bring destinations to life through travel films, cultural and historical storytelling, reliable travel guides and personal trip-planning tools. We help people discover a place, understand its story and plan their own journey, while respecting the communities and cultures that make every destination unique.
Eight commitments behind every page.
This promise guides what we publish, what we leave out, which partners we work with and how the Travel Concierge responds.
How we label what we know.
A destination can be useful before we visit it, but research is never made to look like first-hand experience. A place can carry more than one status.
In development is an internal editorial status for our team and isn't shown on public pages.
Six questions every page must answer.
If a page can't meet these yet, it offers a smaller, honest experience instead of pretending to be a complete guide.
Understand
What makes this place distinctive, and what should a visitor know about its history and culture?
Decide
Does it suit this traveller's interests, time, budget and needs?
Plan
What are the realistic itineraries, transport options, likely costs and practical considerations?
Verify
Which claims are supported by credible sources, what changes often, and when was it last checked?
Act
Can the visitor take a useful next step: refine a plan, visit an official source, save or share?
Trust
Is it clear whether this comes from research, first-hand experience or an original film?
